$225.00

The drawing of a pygmy kingfisher is inscribed 5 in the upper left corner. This is a small bird native to the North American tropics from southern Mexico through Central America to western Ecuador, as well as the entire Amazon basin. Although Edwards depicted and described several kingfishers in his four-volume publication, A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, this particular example has yet to be identified in his published works.
