A word about brass: When your item arrives, it will be packaged in a poly bag which keeps the shiny finish intact. You can either keep this shiny effect by polishing regularly with an inexpensive polishing cloth, or you can allow the brass to patina naturally. As soon as you take the pieces out of the plastic, they will begin the patina process.
