Historic Garden House Live Oak Sofa Table
$10,000.00
Own a piece of history. Crafted from the historic Garden House Live Oak at Drayton Hall, each one is unique. The result is a one-of-a kind beautifully crafted piece of history that is a guaranteed family heirloom.
Made in Charleston, South Carolina by artist Hannah Robinson, this piece is elegant and sleek, with a lighter wood filler to highlight the voids and curls of the live oak. Notice the hues and darker lines that look like waves, these wavy patterns are created by the wind whipping off the Ashley river. The heavy branch fortified herself to withstand the gusty winds. No other tree species curves like live oak, it is iconic to the south and worthy of admiration.
The legs are made by electrocuting the wood, a modern process called Fractal Burning. The negative and positive energy burns the natural fibers inside the wood. She’s finished in a water based matte for a lighter wood finish. The legs easily unscrew for easy transportation.
