For the high-end custom furniture maker, timber is rarely just a raw material—it is a narrative. We are proud to present an exclusive and limited collection of milled and kiln-dried Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) slabs, salvaged from the most significant tree fall in recent Drayton Hall history.
On October 1, 2022, during the passage of Hurricane Ian, Drayton Hall lost a legendary (estimated) 300-year-old Live Oak. Known as the Garden House Oak, this sentinel stood since the early 1700s near John Drayton’s original Garden House. Today, this legacy tree has been meticulously preserved and processed into architectural-grade slabs, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build with wood that is thought to pre-date the American Revolution.
