Based on a sketch done by Lewis Reeve Gibbes of the 2nd iteration of the Great Hall ceiling, these lovely cocktail napkins are an elegant way to bring Drayton Hall into your home.
On June 2, 1818, Charles Drayton wrote in his diary that Duggan visited Drayton Hall to check on his laborers who were busy installing new ceilings in the front bed chambers and ornamenting the ceiling in the Great Hall. Nearly three decades later, in 1845, Lewis Reeve Gibbes sketched this ornamented ceiling. His sketch is all that survives of the 1818 Great Hall ceiling, which featured delicate neoclassical details favored in the early 19th century.
